Meet the Doctor

Dr. Matthew (Matt) Samson recently became the owner of Horizon Family Chiropractic. Matt was born and raised in Minot, ND and throughout his entire life has been and continues to be an active member of the community through athletics, volunteer work and clubs.

Matt began his collegiate studies at Minot State University and went on to receive his Bachelor Degree and Doctorate of Chiropractic at Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, Iowa in 2010. Recently, Matt spent two weeks abroad in Honduras at a free service clinic. There, he bore witness and provided relief through chiropractic to poverty-stricken patients who previously had little to no health care, many who were suffering from very extreme and adverse health conditions.

At a young age, Matt witnessed firsthand the benefits chiropractic had on his brother, Brady, who was diagnosed with Muscular Dystrophy as a small child. Brady went through many medical treatments, but it was Chiropractic that gave him the most relief. After each visit with his chiropractors, Dr. Steve Ward and Dr. Jerome Schuler, Brady’s improvements in walking, talking, muscular strength and muscular endurance were exceptional. Above all, Matt saw how much happier Brady was. Matt attributes seeing the success Brady had with chiropractic, as reason to why he decided to pursue a career in the field today.

Matt was fortunate to spend the summer and fall of 2010 under the guidance of two outstanding chiropractors, Dr. Christa Hubbard and Dr. Matthew Thomas. Matt considers his time with them invaluable, as he was able to learn and observe the help and relief they provided to their patients. Most importantly, Matt witnessed the astounding effects that Chiropractic Neurology and Functional Neurology had on their patients. Matt continues to use these ideals in his practice daily.

In his spare time, Matt still enjoys all sports, especially hockey, tennis and golf and is an avid water-skier. Recently, Matt ran his first marathon in Duluth, MN. Matt enjoys spending time at his lake cabin on Metigoshe with his family. With his experience of living with a brother who understood the difficulties of life but never complained and lived everyday of his life to the fullest, Matt is ready to help you with Chiropractic care.
